Location: 371

Time: 10:00 - 15:00

You live, work or just enjoy the farming and rural community. But are you aware of all the dangers and risks to yourself, your workers and family that there may be on your farm?

The rural crime prevention and fire safety event, organised by NFU Scotland, SRUC and other partners, will include a series of interactive workshops showcasing how to reduce risks on farms – including fire and criminal activity.

Barony hosts rural safety eventPolice Scotland will focus on farm safety and security, and how to protect a property from those with criminal intent.

The police will also hold a joint workshop with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) focusing on the prevention of road traffic accidents and the safe transportation of animals.

In addition, SFRS will talk about fire safety and prevention, and the identification of hazards.

Scottish Power Energy Networks will explain how to identify and avoid contact with the electricity supply equipment on a farm and the surrounding area, and what to do in the event of a failure.
