This course will take place on site or on one of our SRUC Campuses and will provide candidates with the skills to prepare, operate and maintain brushwood chippers. Preparing you for your City & Guilds NPTC assessment in manually fed woodchipper operations.
What is Involved?
Identify potential hazards and risks Understand requirements of risk assessments Identify and inspect machinery as to PUWER regulations Identify appropriate PPE
Carry out a plan of operation
Convert machine to working position
Inspect chipper and report on serviceability
Carry out daily maintenance
Operate machine safely
Produce different size chips
Work safely in roadside environments
There are no formal entry requirements for this course.
Certification/Award on Completion
City and Guilds NPTC Level 2 Certificate of Competence in Manually Fed Wood Chipper Operations

Appropriate PPE, Equipment, Passport Photograph and Packed Lunch.

£275.00 per person. Course fees include training, assessment and registration fees. Please note there is no VAT on our training.
Individual Training Accounts will open on Monday 13 January 2020.
This phase of the scheme will accept up to 10,000 new applications.

How do I book?
To book a place on one of our courses, please complete and return the course booking form to the appropriate campus address or email address shown below. Course fees must be paid in full at the time of booking. Payments can be made over the phone using a debit/credit card, by cheque made payable to SRUC or by Bank Transfer (for bank transfer details please contact your chosen campus).
Cancellations must be made at least 10 working days prior to the course start date otherwise the full course fee is still payable. In the event that SRUC has to cancel a course for any reason your course fees will be refunded in full or your booking transferred to the next available date if this is suitable.
