SRUC Training Courses: Tree Survey and Inspection (Basic)


Our basic one day Tree Inspection Training Course aims to provide you with the knowledge to be able to identify a hazardous tree, determine the level of risk and then decide on an appropriate course of action.

What is Involved?

State the legal and safety implications of hazardous trees.
Maintain your own health and safety while carrying out Basic Tree Survey and Inspection.
Recognise hazardous trees.
Determine level of risk.
Decide on an appropriate course of action.
Collect and maintain adequate information.
Recognise your own limitations.

We require a minimum of 6 candidates to run this course. However, we are able to run bespoke courses for smaller groups if required.

£145.00 per person. Course fees include training, assessment and registration fees. Please note there is no VAT on our training.

Individual Training Accounts will open on Monday 13 January 2020.

This phase of the scheme will accept up to 10,000 new applications.

SDS Individual Training Accounts (ITA)

You may be eligible for part funding to support the cost of this course.

Get up to £200 towards the cost of a training course with an SDS Individual Training Account (ITA).

How do I book?

To book a place on one of our courses, please complete and return the course booking form to the appropriate campus address or email address shown below. Course fees must be paid in full at the time of booking. Payments can be made over the phone using a debit/credit card, by cheque made payable to SRUC or by Bank Transfer (for bank transfer details please contact your chosen campus).


Cancellations must be made at least 10 working days prior to the course start date otherwise the full course fee is still payable. In the event that SRUC has to cancel a course for any reason your course fees will be refunded in full or your booking transferred to the next available date if this is suitable.
