Overview
Safe use of Pesticide: PA6 This course is suitable for those working in forestry, agriculture, horticulture or greenkeeping where spraying pesticide is required. It is based around the National Proficiency Test Council PA6 (Hand Held Applicators) Test and is designed to help people to successfully prepare for their tests. The course lasts for one day, with attendance required to sit the test on another day following the course.

• Preparing the sprayer and checking components
• Operating the hand held sprayer in a variety of operating circumstances
• Out of season maintenance and storage

• Calibrating the hand held sprayer

Entry Requirements
Candidates must pass their PA1 assessment prior to completing testing for PA6
Certification/Award on Completion
City & Guilds NPTC Level 2 Award in the Safe Application of Pesticides using Pedestrian Hand Held Equipment

• Coveralls (disposable/limited use or reusable suits) e.g Tyvek Type 4, 5 or 6
• Nitrile Glovese.g Mapa ultranitrile 491 or 493
• Eye & Face protections e.g F800 Browgaurd Faceshield
• Wellington boots

Course Dates
SRUC Barony Campus:
12th February 2021 with assessment on the 17th or 18th February 2021.
SRUC Oatridge Campus:
16th, 17th, 18th and 19th March 2021
Duration
1 day training plus a separate date for assessment on successful completion of PA1 test.

Cost
£285.00 per person. Course fees include training, assessment and registration fees. Please note there is no VAT on our training.

How do I book?
To book a place on one of our courses, please complete and return the course booking form to the appropriate campus address or email address shown below. Course fees must be paid in full at the time of booking. Payments can be made over the phone using a debit/credit card, by cheque made payable to SRUC or by Bank Transfer (for bank transfer details please contact your chosen campus).
Cancellation
Cancellations must be made at least 10 working days prior to the course start date otherwise the full course fee is still payable. In the event that SRUC has to cancel a course for any reason your course fees will be refunded in full or your booking transferred to the next available date if this is suitable.
