Overview
Safe use of Pesticide: PA4s This course is suitable for those working in forestry, agriculture, horticulture or greenkeeping. It is based around the National Proficiency Test Council PA4s (Slug Applicators) Test and is designed to help people to successfully prepare for their tests. The course lasts for one day, with attendance required to sit the test on another day following the course.

• How granular applicators work
• Preparation and set up of granular applicators
• Selection of applicator for given product and situation
• Checking, setting and calibrating the applicator
• Filling the applicator
• Operating the applicator safely and efficiently
• Decontamination of the applicator
• Service the applicator
• Selecting the correct PPE when using granules
• Cleaning and storing applicator correctly
• Accurately recording information
Entry Requirements
Candidates must pass their PA1 assessment prior to completing testing for PA4s
Certification/Award on Completion
NPTC City & Guilds Level 2 Award in the Safe Application of Pelleted or Granular Pesticides Using Mounted or Trailed Applicators

Prices for this course will be given on request. Please contact the campus to receive a quotation. Our course fees include training, assessment and registration fees. Please note there is no VAT on our training.

How do I book?
To book a place on one of our courses, please complete and return the course booking form to the appropriate campus address or email address shown below. Course fees must be paid in full at the time of booking. Payments can be made over the phone using a debit/credit card, by cheque made payable to SRUC or by Bank Transfer (for bank transfer details please contact your chosen campus).
Cancellation
Cancellations must be made at least 10 working days prior to the course start date otherwise the full course fee is still payable. In the event that SRUC has to cancel a course for any reason your course fees will be refunded in full or your booking transferred to the next available date if this is suitable.
