These courses are for anyone who uses or will be using an industrial lift truck in the land-based industry.
The duration of this course varies depending on your level of experience from 1 day for refresher training to 5 days for novice operators.

Starting and stopping the machine
Basic driving and manoeuvring
Operating with an empty pallet
Handling loaded pallets up to a height of 1200mm
Stacking/Destacking loaded pallets at all heights
Using an assistant (banksman)
Daily and take-over maintenance checks
Familiarisation with instruments and controls
Loading and unloading lorries and trailers
In order to undertake experienced operator courses candidates must be familiar with the operation of equipment
Certification/Award on Completion
Lantra Awards Certificate. Please be aware that this certification is not valid on construction sites requiring a CITB card.

You may be eligible for part funding to support the cost of this course.

How do I book?
To book a place on one of our courses, please complete and return the course booking form to the appropriate campus address or email address shown below. Course fees must be paid in full at the time of booking. Payments can be made over the phone using a debit/credit card, by cheque made payable to SRUC or by Bank Transfer (for bank transfer details please contact your chosen campus).
Cancellations must be made at least 10 working days prior to the course start date otherwise the full course fee is still payable. In the event that SRUC has to cancel a course for any reason your course fees will be refunded in full or your booking transferred to the next available date if this is suitable.
