This training course is Ideal for smaller, lower risk environments where the risk assessment indicates a lower level of First Aid cover is required. This is a one day course covering the basics in workplace First Aid.
What is Involved?
•Understanding the role of the First Aider including: - the importance of preventing cross infection- the need for recording incidents and actions- use of available equipment
•Assessing the situation or circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency.
•Administering First Aid to a casualty who is:
- unconscious (including seizure)
- wounded and bleeding
- suffering from shock
•Providing appropriate First Aid for minor injuries (including small cuts, grazes and bruises, minor burns and scalds, small splinters)
There are no formal entry requirements for this course.
Certification/Award on Completion
Lantra Awards Certification is gained on completion of this course and is valid for three years.

How do I book?
To book a place on one of our courses, please complete and return the course booking form to the appropriate campus address or email address shown below. Course fees must be paid in full at the time of booking. Payments can be made over the phone using a debit/credit card, by cheque made payable to SRUC or by Bank Transfer (for bank transfer details please contact your chosen campus).
Cancellations must be made at least 10 working days prior to the course start date otherwise the full course fee is still payable. In the event that SRUC has to cancel a course for any reason your course fees will be refunded in full or your booking transferred to the next available date if this is suitable.
