Overview
This five day training course takes place on-site and covers tree climbing and aerial rescue operations (Formerly NPTC CS38). It will be delivered by qualified instructors and leads to assessment in NPTC Level 2 Awards in Tree Climbing and Rescue and Accessing a Tree using a Rope and Harness.
What is Involved?
Identify potential hazards and risks Understand requirements of risk assessments Climbing equipment Tree identification
Identify and inspect equipment as to LOLER regulations
Carry out a plan of operation
Gain access into tree using various techniques
Ascend and descend a tree using rope and harness
Emergency procedures
Rescue a casualty with damaged or undamaged rope and three person team technique
Identify key procedural points when dealing with a casualty
Retrieve, check and store rope and equipment
Entry Requirements
No qualifications are required but candidates should have a good level of fitness as this is a physically demanding course.
Certification/Award on Completion
City and Guilds NPTC Level 2 Award in Accessing a Tree Using a Rope and Harness and Level 2 Award in Tree Climbing and Rescue

£925.00 per person. Course fees include training, assessment and registration fees. Please note there is no VAT on our training.
Funding

This phase of the scheme will accept up to 10,000 new applications.
SDS Individual Training Accounts (ITA)
You may be eligible for part funding to support the cost of this course.

How do I book?
To book a place on one of our courses, please complete and return the course booking form to the appropriate campus address or email address shown below. Course fees must be paid in full at the time of booking. Payments can be made over the phone using a debit/credit card, by cheque made payable to SRUC or by Bank Transfer (for bank transfer details please contact your chosen campus).
Cancellation
Cancellations must be made at least 10 working days prior to the course start date otherwise the full course fee is still payable. In the event that SRUC has to cancel a course for any reason your course fees will be refunded in full or your booking transferred to the next available date if this is suitable.
