City & Guilds NPTC
Our three day training course for the use of a chainsaw from a rope and harness will take place on-site or at one of our SRUC Campuses. It will be delivered by qualified instructors and leads to assessment for the City and Guilds NPTC Level 3 Award in Aerial Cutting of Trees using Free-fall Techniques (Formerly CS39)
What is Involved?
This unit covers the use of the chainsaw in the tree to carry out various cutting methods through safe work position techniques.
Prepare chainsaw for use
Cold/Hot starting techniques
Sending saw aloft
General saw handling
Use of chainsaw from rope and harness to remove medium sized lateral branches
Use of slings
How to free a trapped saw
Basic Target pruning
Candidates should hold the appropraite pre-requisites for this course. These are: NPTC CS30, CS31 and CS38 or 201, 202, 203, 206 and 306.

Appropriate PPE, Equipment, Passport Photograph and Packed Lunch.

£660.00 per person. Course fees include training, assessment and registration fees. Please note there is no VAT on our training.
Individual Training Accounts will open on Monday 13 January 2020.
This phase of the scheme will accept up to 10,000 new applications.

You may be eligible for part funding to support the cost of this course.

How do I book?
To book a place on one of our courses, please complete and return the course booking form to the appropriate campus address or email address shown below. Course fees must be paid in full at the time of booking. Payments can be made over the phone using a debit/credit card, by cheque made payable to SRUC or by Bank Transfer (for bank transfer details please contact your chosen campus).
Cancellations must be made at least 10 working days prior to the course start date otherwise the full course fee is still payable. In the event that SRUC has to cancel a course for any reason your course fees will be refunded in full or your booking transferred to the next available date if this is suitable.
