About the Course
This course can be undertaken as a stand alone course or as a progression from the National Certificate Land-based Service Operations Engineering by gaining extra practical experience at a dealership or repair workshop.
Applicants must be employed within the industry or have an employer who would above or successful completion of a relevant National Certificate course.
A range of topics will be covered during the course including monitoring and maintaining health, safety and security, mechanical principles, tools and equipment, material preparation, shaping and assembling, servicing and maintenance, thermal joining processes, cooling and lubrication, servicing and repairing electrical systems on land-based equipment, braking systems, steering systems, transmission systems, cutting and mowing equipment, general ground care equipment and establishing and maintaining working relationships with others.
A Modern Apprenticeship for this course can be achieved by completing this course plus an Emergency First Aid at Work qualification and an Abrasive Wheels course.
