Environmental Management HNC

About the Course

Sustainability, conservation and protecting the environment are now of prime importance. This course equips you with the knowledge and skills needed to address environmental concerns not by studying environmental issues alone, but by considering them in the appropriate social, economic and management context.

Course Duration: 1 year if studied full-time.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must hold a minimum of 1 Higher in a relevant subject (Grade C)/1 A-Level Pass or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject. Alternative entry qualifications such as a related National Certificate are also accepted. Applicants with a mature attitude who are seeking a change in career will be assessed individually.

Course Content

As with all environmental courses at SRUC, lecture-based learning is heavily supplemented by field visits, external speakers, case studies and a study tour. This enables the knowledge gained in the lecture room to be placed firmly in an applied context.

Upon successful completion of this course, students may apply to join year 2 of the HND Environmental Management or year three of the following degree programmes at SRUC: BSc/BSc (Hons) Environmental Management, BSc/BSc (Hons) Wildlife and Conservation Management.
