Applied Animal Science TopUp Degree BSc / BSc Hons

Level: SCQF 9-10

UCAS Code: D300

Available at these campuses: Barony

About the Course

Applied animal scientists will have a vital role to play in meeting the future demands of our growing population in a time of climate change. Applications of animal science are crucial for improving the productivity and sustainability of livestock production systems, for controlling disease epidemics, for raising standards of animal welfare, and for enhancing wildlife biodiversity.

The aim of this course is to equip you with a sound knowledge and understanding of animal science and its applications, together with practical and laboratory skills and an understanding of the environmental, ethical and economic contexts in which the sector operates.

The top-up degree course is offered at our Barony campus - you enter with a related HND or equivalent and study years 3 and 4 of our degree programme, graduating with an Honours degree.

Entry into Year 3 of our Applied Animal Science degree is also possible at other SRUC campuses - see Applied Animal Science for details.

The Applied Animal Science BSc/BSc (Hons) degree is awarded by the University of Glasgow.

Entry Requirements

Entry is into year 3 of a degree, so you must hold a relevant qualification at SCQF Level 8, for example a related HND.
