About the Course
The HNC Bioscience will provide students with a strong foundation in biological knowledge and understanding, together with training in basic practical and laboratory techniques.
Studies cover the theory and practice of cell biology, biochemistry, and microbiology combined with optional elective modules in animal science, plant science, soil science, biotechnology or crop production.
The HNC Bioscience provides an excellent first step into higher education and for employment in the bioscience sector. It allows students to investigate which aspects of biology they are most interested in as well as the industrial applications of these subjects.
Those successfully completing the course can expect to be qualified for lab assistant postitions in industry, and may also apply to continue on to the HND Applied Bioscience, HND Agricultural Science, BSc/BSc (Hons) Agricultural Technology or BSc/BSc (Hons) Applied Animal Science programmes.
