About the Course

Countryside Management

You will study a number of introductory modules including: Interpretation: An Introduction, Leadership of Countryside Activities and Land Use in Scotland: An introduction.

The course will give you the opportunity to study a wide range of subjects including biodiversity conservation, classification and identification skills, conservation skills and countryside recreation and access. 

All underpinning knowledge is reinforced through extensive use of site visits and field work. This gives you a real sense of how your learning relates to the practicalities of managing the natural heritage and enhances your employability.

Course Duration: 1 year if studied full-time.

 

Entry Requirements

Applicants must hold a minimum of 1 Higher in a relevant subject (Grade C)/1 A-Level Pass or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject. Alternative entry qualifications such as a related National Certificate are also accepted. Applicants with a mature attitude who are seeking a change in career will be assessed individually.

Through this course you will develop an understanding of Scotland's landscape and how it is managed.
