Hair and Beauty students from the Elmwood Campus of Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC) recently volunteered to prepare models for the local YMCA and ‘Caring for Cupar’ fashion show.
‘Caring for Cupar’ (CFC) is a charitable initiative that raises funds for local community projects. CFC provided all the clothing for the fashion show. The Elmwood Hair and Beauty Therapy students had just under two hours to prepare their models for the catwalk. The models ranged from aged six to 70-plus and came from the YMCA’s Management Committee, its staff, volunteers and Girls Project.
Hair lecturer Janice Whyte said, “Elmwood Hair and Beauty department was thrilled to have the opportunity to support the show. The pressure was on for the students to create their look in a short time, giving them great experience of working under pressure. The finished results have really boosted their confidence. Well done to all the students who volunteered!”
