A group from Tianjin University of Commerce (TUC) in China recently visited SRUC’s Elmwood Campus to discuss Golf Management Courses.
The University has established a Degree course and is keen to work in partnership with Elmwood to develop this into an internationally renowned programme.
The group spent time discussing their ambitions with Professor David McKenzie, Vice Principal Education at SRUC and Carol Borthwick, Director of International Golf and Student Services, at the Elmwood Campus. As well as viewing the Campuses golf facilities at Stratheden, they took time to visit St Andrews, the world famous 'Home of Golf', before departing for Birmingham on the next leg of their visit to the UK.
Carol Borthwick said: “The visit provided an opportunity to discuss how the two institutes can work together and investigate future partnership agreements.”
TUC have two lecturers currently studying at Elmwood as part of their golf development plans completing some educational units as well as practical training at the golf course.
SRUC's Elmwood Campus, along with its representative office in Shenzhen China, is in the process of setting up a Golf Education Alliance with a number of Colleges and Universities to provide a quality international programme into China Golf to support the sports rapid development.
